Shulun Wang studies social influence, message sharing, and stigma. She focuses on why and how people generate or share stigma-related messages (e.g., stigma-framed messages and intergroup hate speech) within their social networks. She is also interested in how social media affordances shape the social transmission processes of stigma-related messages in computer-mediated contexts. At Penn State, she teaches Effective Speech (CAS 100A) and Introduction to Human Communication (CAS 101N).
