Professional Bio

Mark Kohler is an Assistant Teaching Professor with more than 10 years’ experience teaching primarily public speaking courses. Kohler’s former experience includes 10 years in journalism working for national and international media organizations as a journalist/editor/page designer. Kohler brings his experience with media as a message delivery system and other media issues to marry critical thinking with the speaking skills developed in his classes. His primary teaching goal is helping students gain the skills they need to successfully navigate their future personal and professional lives.  Kohler is also the author/editor of the non-fiction book Exiled in America: A Gen-X Journalist’s View on Life, Politics, Culture, Religion and Social Control in the 21st Century.
