Professional Bio
Donnie is a rhetorician who is primarily focused in the areas of public memory, warfare rhetoric, pedagogy, and sports narratives; especially in instances where these areas intersect. His thesis centered on the public memory construction of the Vietnam War as found in popular public history textbooks, and he is especially interested in research that expands such questions of pedagogy and memory as it pertains to warfare. In addition to research and teaching, Donnie considers speech and debate a key passion. He has competed in, taught, and coached collegiate forensics, and hopes to further pursue debate coaching throughout his academic career.
