Job Posting: Teaching Faculty

The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for full-time positions as a member of the teaching faculty for the 2023-24 academic year. Teaching is anticipated to be in-person.

We seek full-time teaching faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Communication Arts and Sciences, principally in CAS 100 (Effective Speech) but also, as the need arises, in undergraduate communication science, rhetoric, visual communication, and collegiate debate courses. A minimum of a Master’s degree in communication studies or a related field is required. The start date for these positions is August 2023.

Successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

Appointment would be at the appropriate faculty rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, or Associate Teaching Professor. Rank will be decided based on education and experience.

These are non-tenure-track, term appointments with the possibility of reappointment. Length of term is determined by rank and qualifications. Teaching faculty can anticipate to teach three or four courses over the course of an academic year.
