This class focuses on the role that communication plays in health care delivery and in health behavior change programs. We will discuss the behavioral and communication theories and models that have most widely been applied in health intervention and communication campaigns. The students will have a hands-on experience of planning and designing a health communication campaign/intervention.
Course Objectives
The learning outcomes will be an understanding of the communication theories and research, ability to critically analyze messages used in health communication interventions, and knowledge to apply health communication theory and research to design their own health communication campaign/behavior intervention programs.
