Professional Bio
Naomi Hatsfelt Baker joined the Communication Arts and Sciences Department in 2022. She teaches effective communication (CAS 100A) and collaborative communication (CAS 100B). She has more than 20 years of experience teaching theatre in higher education and worked as a professional actress and singer before she began teaching. Most recently, Naomi has been studying and researching media, communication and popular culture. She expects to complete her Ph.D. in Media and Communications Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania by 2023. Her interests include representation, identity, small group communication, and popular culture. She has worked as a private voice/speech and image coach for business clients, beauty queens, news anchors, and pastors. She enjoys singing and listening to music, leading Bible studies, and spending time with her family.
