Professional Bio
Weimiao Zhou studies interpersonal communication and health within multifaceted family systems. Her work examines how siblings and parents shape adolescents’ and emerging adults’ relational, psychological, behavioral, and physical well-being through communicative processes such as socialization, support, and comparison. Recent research focuses on the development of risky behavior, postdivorce family transitions, and parental differential treatment. She employs advanced quantitative and mixed methods to analyze data from individuals, dyads, and family systems. Professor Zhou teaches courses on interpersonal communication (CAS 203) and family communication (CAS 405 and CAS 558).
