Ismael Quiñones was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, México. His research has focused on how time can be rhetorically examined. More recently, Ismael has turned his understanding of time and rhetoric to the study of the afterlife of settler colonialism in México. He is currently studying the transfiguration of the colony into the nation state from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. He has published in Quarterly Journal of Speech, Communication Education, and has a book chapter in the upcoming book The Rhetoric of Fascism. Ismael is currently working at the Center for Democratic Deliberation.
