Professional Bio

Bonnie Sierlecki studies how norms and ideals are constituted, reshaped, reinforced, and challenged through discourse in the world of popular American sport. As an Associate Professor of Communication Studies for the past eight years at Edgewood College in Madison, WI, she taught Justice and Sport, Communication and Civilization, Argument and Controversy, Introduction to Media Studies, Gender, Culture, and Communication, and Qualitative Research Methods in Communication.  Dr. Sierlecki  also directed the Edgewood College Honors Program and Common Reading Program.  While in CAS for her graduate coursework from 2006-2012, Bonnie taught CAS 100A, CAS 175, CAS 201, CAS 214W, and partnered with Paterno fellows and Schreyer Honors students. She was also a graduate assistant and fellow for the Center for Democratic Deliberation. Professor Sierlecki is a founding member of the International Association for Communication and Sport (IACS).
