Ashley M. Peterson is interested in how the affordances of computer-mediated communication affect uncertainty and information acquisition processes in interpersonal interactions. Her current projects examine how emerging adults collaboratively craft messages through mediated channels, and how approaches to information seeking affect the quality of the information a seeker acquires. After obtaining her master’s degree, Ashley served as a lecturer for over two years at The Ohio State University before returning to pursue her PhD at the University of Iowa, where she spent two years in coursework. Ashley has taught courses in persuasion, public speaking, interpersonal communication, and technology and communication. She has also assisted in courses in quantitative methods and qualitative methods.
