Aria Mia Loberti graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rhode Island in May 2020. A member of the Honors Program, she completed a triple major in Communication Studies, Political Science, and Philosophy, with minors in Ancient Greek language and in Rhetoric. As a 2020-2021 US-UK Fulbright Recipient, she earned her MRes in Rhetoric at Royal Holloway University of London. Aria’s research interests focus on ancient rhetoric, specifically 5th-4th century BCE rhetorical practices in Greece, the works of Plato, the reception of ancient women’s voices, and the role of the supernatural. She has presented her work at various regional, national, and international academic conferences and published three papers in peer-reviewed journals. Outside of academia, Aria is an advocate for people with disabilities, efforts that have taken her from her small Rhode Island hometown to the United Nations, UN Women, TEDx, the Thomson Reuters Foundation, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and beyond.
