Stuckey is the 2022 recipient of the Legacy Award

CELEBRATIONS!

Mary Stuckey, Sparks Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences, is the 2022 recipient of the Legacy Award, conferred by the Presidents and Executive Politics Section of the American Political Science Association. The Legacy Award is given to a living author for a book, essay, or article, published at least 10 years prior to the award year that has made a continuing contribution to the intellectual development of the fields of presidency and executive politics. Professor Stuckey is recognized for her 2004 monograph “Defining Americans: The Presidency and National Identity,” which illuminates how presidents enact inclusion and exclusion of citizenship identities through their rhetorical and political choices.

Congratulations, Mary!
