Professor MacGeorge awarded 2021 Raymond Lombra Award

The Department is delighted to share that Professor Erina MacGeorge has been awarded the 2021 Raymond Lombra Award for Distinction in the Social Sciences in recognition of her demonstrated excellence in research and scholarship. Among Professor MacGeorge’s signature accomplishments in recent years is her co-editing (with Lyn Van Swol) of the “Oxford Handbook of Advice,” editing a special issue of the Journal of Language and Social Psychology, and numerous research articles advancing our understanding of advice and how it unfolds in interactions between health care providers and patients. Professor MacGeorge has also contributed to advances in social science as Director of the Student Health Research Initiative, a partnership with the Huck Institutes for the Life Sciences and the Social Science Research Institute, and in her role on several externally funded projects focused on antibiotic stewardship.

Congratulations, Erina!
