PhD student selected as Graduate Student Resident and receives grant for dissertation

CELEBRATIONS!

PhD Student Ismael Quiñones has been selected as Graduate Student Resident of Penn State’s Humanities Institute for the fall of 2022, an honor that grants a full release from teaching to focus on dissertation research. In addition, Mr. Quiñones has received a grant from the McCourtney Institute and Center for Democratic Deliberation to conduct archival research for his dissertation. That project, titled “Undocumented Times: Rhetorics of a Colonial Moment, is a mediation on the possibilities of augmenting pluriversal futures that cultivate life that considers friars to self-emancipated liberators, Originary nations to Spanish conquistadors, and life and death of migrants.

Congratulations, Ismael, on both achievements!
