Liberal Arts Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences interviewed about new book

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT:

Earlier this month, the American Enterprise Institute interviewed Stephen Browne, Liberal Arts Professor of Communication Arts & Sciences, about his new book, “The First Inauguration: George Washington and the Invention of the Republic.” The book, which interviewer Adam White describes as his favorite of the year, examines how the rhetorical acts of first president of the United States united a nation and invented the American republic. On this inauguration day, it may be worth reflecting on the sacred tradition launched by Washington more than 230 year ago.
