Kennerly named recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Teaching Awards for Tenure Line Faculty

CELEBRATIONS!

The CAS Department is delighted to announce that Michele Kennerly, Associate Professor of CAS and Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, is the 2021 recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Teaching Award for Tenure Line Faculty, conferred by the College of the Liberal Arts. This award recognizes Professor Kennerly’s significant contributions to undergraduate teaching, through both her leadership as Director of CAS 100 and in her own teaching assignments. In her letter of nomination, Department Head Denise Solomon wrote, “Professor Kennerly … is witty, without making wit the lesson. She is clever, without making cleverness a distraction. She is critical and demanding, while always being collaborative and encouraging. She makes education feel important, and in doing so she inspires her students to seek an education, and not just a degree.” We are so very fortunate to have her on our faculty.

Congratulations, Michele!
