GRADS@WORK: Research on mental health in the early months of COVID-19

GRADS@WORK

PhD student Yanmengqian (Alison) Zhou, with faculty collaborators Erina MacGeorge, Professor of Communication Arts & Sciences, and Jessica Myrick, Associate Professor of Communications, recently published research on mental health in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US. Using longitudinal data, the team identified factors that predicted mental health outcomes, and the effects of mental health on coping and health-protective strategies. Through their research, made possible by funding from the CAS department, Alison and her collaborator are helping  to identify those members of our society most vulnerable to the mental health consequences of living through the pandemic.
