GRADS@WORK, Maier gives lecture for Tourette Association of America

GRADS@WORK
Sophia Maier, a graduate student in CAS, recently gave a lecture for the Tourette Association of America. The lecture is titled, “Keeping Tourette Weird” and argues that Tourette syndrome is a product of social conditions and that a sense of normalcy surrounding Tourette’s is both unrealistic and undesirable. Sophia is currently writing her dissertation “Rhetorical Disability: Tourette’s and Its Techniques," on the ways that tics invent language. A video of her lecture is available here: https://youtu.be/BmToFzgHEsw
