Faculty Spotlight: Professor Stuckey assumes role of Journal Editor for 3rd time

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT:

Mary Stuckey, Sparks Professor of Communication Arts & Sciences, has assumed the role of journal editor for the third time in her career.  Her first such position was as editor of the Southern Communication Journal, from 2009-2011. More recently, she was editor of the Quarterly Journal of Speech from 20017-2019. One indicator of an editor’s effectiveness is the change in the journal’s impact factor, which indexes how frequently articles published in a journal in the previous two years are cited in other published work. The Quarterly Journal of Speech recently shared the news that the journal’s impact factor in 2019 was 1.182 in 2019, a considerable increase over the previous year’s score of 0.758.  Professor Stuckey’s newest assignment is as interim editor of Rhetoric & Public Affairs, a role to which she brings her considerable experience and track record of effectiveness.

Thank you, Mary, for all you do for the communication discipline!
