Faculty Spotlight: Professor Engels releases essay exploring the meaning of "namaste" in The Conversation

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT:

Jeremy Engels, Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences and Director of the Paterno Fellows Program in the College of the Liberal Arts, has an essay exploring the meaning of “namaste” in The Conversation. “Namaste,” as a ritual expresses and recognized interconnectedness, something Professor Engels says can bolster us during the COVID-19 pandemic. The essay resonates with Professor Engels forthcoming book,  “The Ethics of Oneness: Emerson, Whitman, and the Bhagavad Gita,” as well as his current research.  You can access the essay here:https://theconversation.com/why-namaste-has-become-the-perfect-pandemic-greeting-147149
