Faculty Spotlight: Professor Dillard, collaborator on "Viral Imaginations: COVID-19"

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT:

Professor James Dillard is a collaborator on “Viral Imaginations: COVID-19,” a web-based initiative that allows current and former Pennsylvanians to share artistic reflections on their coronavirus pandemic experience. “Viral Imaginations is an outlet for people grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic to share their creative expressions through a community-based forum that’s dedicated to contemplations about this personally and historically defining moment,” said Michele Mekel, Bioethics Program assistant director and project co-principal investigator.   

Viral Imaginations: COVID-19 is an interdisciplinary undertaking by the Penn State Bioethics Program, the Penn State College of Medicine’s Humanities Departmentthe Penn State College of the Liberal Arts’ Communications Arts and Sciences Department and Information Technology Web and Creative Services Teamthe Penn State College of Arts and Architecture, and the Penn State Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences.  Michele Mekel and Bernice Hausman, both members of the Bioethics Program Advisory Board, are leading the project, which is funded by a grant from the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences.
