Communication Arts and Sciences first virtual student commencement

GRADS@WORK:

The Department of Communication Arts & Sciences congratulates Adam Cody, who received his PhD, and Rachael Bishop and Brandon Johnson, who received their MA degree on August 15th. Adam, Rachael, and Brandon are the very first CAS graduate students to receive their degree in a virtual commencement ceremony. Gone were long lines, and people – if they preferred – could cut to the part where the name they came to hear was announced. Best wishes to Rachael and Brandon, as you continue your studies as PhD students in CAS, and to Adam, as he embarks on his career as an assistant professor of Rhetoric, Composition, and Oral Communication in the Virginia Military Institute’s Department of English, Rhetoric, and Humanistic Studies.
