Clayton Schug Speech and Debate Tournament

SPEECH AND DEBATE: In addition, to Penn State students, students from six universities competed in speech and debate events at the Clayton Schug Invitational: Capital University, John Carroll University, Hillsdale, Central Michigan University, Ithaca College, Lafayette College. Penn State students did well: Alicia Houston placed 1st in Persuasion and 2nd in Informative Speaking. Sneha Srivastava placed 1st in Poetry. Sarah Stevenson-Peck Placed 3rd in both Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking. Daniel Carvajal placed 4th in Impromptu. In Lincoln Douglas debate, Elisa Vogel reached quarterfinals and was awarded 5th place speaker. Additionally in debate, Josh Kwak reached semifinals and was top speaker. This coming weekend, the Speech and Debate society are sending teams to St. Anselm and Illinois State University for more exciting competitions.
