CELEBRATIONS!

CAS Department Head Denise Solomon has been named a Distinguished Professor by Penn State’s office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs. The title recognizes faculty who have made an outstanding academic contribution to the university. Professor Solomon is well-known for her research on the experience of turbulence in romantic relationships, as well as her related work on conversations that address relationship conflicts and convey comfort and support. Her recent work is breaking new ground by developing analytical methods for analyzing the over-time, turn-to-turn dynamics of these conversations. Professor Solomon served as associate dean in the college from 2008 to 2013, and is in her sixth year as CAS Department Head.
