Associate Professor Wilson receives awards from Rhetoric Society of America's biennial conference

CELEBRATIONS!!

At the Rhetoric Society of America’s biennial conference in Baltimore, MD, Kirt Wilson, Associate Professor and incoming Interim Head of CAS, received two awards for his scholarship, influence, and administrative leadership. In honor of his impact on rhetorical studies and for his service to RSA as a member of its Board of Directors (2013-2016), President-Elect (2016-2018), President (2018 - 2020), and Past-President (2020-2022), Dr. Wilson received the George E. Yoos Distinguished Service Award. This award is presented biennially to a member of the Society "who has made significant and sustained contributions to RSA and to the field." Scholars who receive the Yoos Distinguished Service Award are honored further by being appointed an RSA Fellow. Fellows of RSA are recognized for the quality, quantity, and/or influence of their research and for increasing the visibility and influence of rhetorical studies through public lectures, teaching, advocacy, or other activities. The Chair of the Awards Committee, Dr. Ersula Ore of Arizona State University, said at the awards ceremony that the excellence of Wilson's leadership during a period of transformation and his influence on the field were "undeniable." Those of us in CAS wholeheartedly agree.

Congratulations, Kirt!
