CAS 303 – Communication Theory

This course is intended as a first course in communication theory for Communication Arts and Sciences majors and minors, but is also relevant to a range of majors.  It is designed to show you how communication theory can be applied to understand and improve communication in your professional (and personal) life. The theories examined will span the range of communication contexts, including interpersonal, group, organizational, mediated, and cross-cultural interactions. The professor and teaching assistants utilize a mix of lecture, discussion, and activity, so there is something for every learning style. Come lose your fear of ‘theory’ and have fun with social science research!
