Communication Arts & Sciences Minor

Students intending to minor in Communication Arts & Sciences should schedule CAS 100 as early as possible in their college program after their freshman year.  CAS 100 may not be counted as part of the minor.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MINOR: 18 credits

1. Select 3 credits from the following: CAS 200 (GI), Language, Culture, and Communication, CAS 201 (GH), Rhetorical Theory, or CAS 202 (GS), Communication Theory

    2. Select 3 credits from the following:CAS 203 (GS), Interpersonal Communication, CAS 211, Informative Speaking, CAS 213, Persuasive Speaking, CAS 214 (W), Speech Writing, CAS 215, Argumentation, CAS 250, Small Group Communication, CAS 252, Business and Professional Communication, CAS 271 (US;IL), Intercultural Communication, CAS 283, Communication and Information Technology I

      3. Select 12 credits from courses in Communication Arts & Sciences. At least 6 credits must be at the 400-level.

      *COMMUNICATION ARTS & SCIENCES 100, 126, 195 MAY NOT BE USED TO SATISFY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MINOR.
