STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM
Studying Abroad in Greece

The 2007 Faculty Director of the Athens Program is Dr. Christopher Johnstone, Associate Professor of Rhetoric in the department of Communication Arts and Sciences and chair of the faculty committee that coordinates the Athens Program. Dr. Johnstone, along with 14 Penn State Students, and 3 students from the universities of Wisconsin and Michigan are in Athens, Greece. Penn
State is a member of a consortium of Big Ten schools that have agreed to cooperate regarding their study abroad programs, so students from any one of the schools can take part in the foreign study programs at the other schools without having to enroll at those schools. Credits and grades
transfer automatically, and there is a pre-set tuition arrangement. Starting next year (2008), students at the University of Illinois at Chicago will also be able to join the program
Next year, the program will be directed by Dr. Dale Jacquette of the Philosophy Department. Dr. Jaquette served as a faculty director of the 2004 program.
