Xun Zhu is interested in the role of communication in socializing health-related stigma. His research focuses on the effects of stigma message features and communication networks on the likelihood of disseminating stigma messages, and the consequences that arise from the message dissemination. The goal of his research is to contribute to the scientific understanding of how health-related stigmas become normalized via mediated and interpersonal communication. Methodologically, he is interested in social network analysis and network experimentation. Xun has taught public speaking, and has served as a teaching assistant in communication theory and interpersonal communication.
