Biography:

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Lori Bedell earned all of her media-related degrees from Ohio University in beautiful Athens, Ohio. Lori and her family moved around a lot, but have happily called State College and Penn State their home since 2003. Beginning her career in Los Angeles in the Film/TV industry, Lori transitioned into academia and has since taught a wide range of courses including video production, communication theory, freshmen seminars on politics and media, and, most recently, Rhetoric and Civic Life, which she also co-directs. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences and is also the department’s honors adviser and Director of the Penn State Public Speaking Center (http://speakingcenter.la.psu.edu). Spare time fun includes all sorts of outdoor activities and her ridiculously awesome daughters and husband.
