Penn State ranks in the top ten programs in the areas of health communication (tied for first), intercultural-international communication (ranked seventh), interpersonal-small group communication (ranked third – includes family communication), political communication (ranked tenth), and rhetorical communication (ranked third), according to the 2004 National Communication Association reputational study.
