CAS 411 - Rhetorical Criticism

Rhetorical Criticism is an upper-division course designed to enrich your understanding of the ways in which civic life is shaped by the power of language, persuasion, and public debate. Our focus is on the rhetoric of politics, broadly taken, especially with respect to protest, campaigns, and collective action for social change.

Course Objectives

  • learn about important principles of rhetorical criticism;
  • compose a research essay on a topic of your choice;
