RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS:
- I have a joint appointment with Women's Studies. I am a generalist
with interests that include small group and organizational communication,
health communication, computer-mediated communication, and pedagogy. In
each of these areas I focus on women's issues.
- My recent publications include a chapter co-authored with Joan Korenman: "Group Dynamics of an E-Mail Forum," in Computer-Mediated Communication: Linguistic, Social and Cross-Cultural Perspectives (1996); a chapter in a book that I co-edited with Sheryl P. Bowen, "Organizing and Relating: Small Group Communication from a Feminist Perspective," in Transforming Visions: Feminist Critiques in Speech Communication (1993), "Physician-Patient Relationships: What Do Doctors Say?" in Health Communication (1991), a chapter "Studying Performance Behavior with Observations and Interviews," in Teaching How to Work in Groups (1990), and a book co-authored with Gerald M. Phillips, Studying Organizational Communication: A Case Study of the Farmers Home Administration (1988).
